No account, no sign up. You never give us your email or any login. There is nothing to create. If you choose to add a nickname for the friends board, that nickname is the only name we see.

Your results. Your score, streak and today's progress are saved in your browser's local storage so you can come back to them. When you finish a case, your score, time and result grid are also sent to us for the friends board, with a random ID your browser makes up and your nickname if you added one. They are kept by day and board, and only people with your challenge link see them. Clearing your browser data removes your copy and gives you a new ID.

Your guesses. To check an answer, the game sends which photo you picked to our server. It is not linked to you and is not stored with any identifier.

Sharing. If you share a result, the link contains your case number, score, time and a board code, so your friend can see your result and join the same daily board. Nothing else.

Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Advertising. Imposter shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ad Settings, and learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown.

Analytics. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites. The game also sends anonymous step counts (for example "round 3 reached"), with no ID attached, so we can see where the game is too hard.

Photos. Real photos are credited on each case. AI images are made for the game.
